How big is your dream/
Vision?
When
I was in the seminary early part of my life, I used to tell my friends that I
would be doing my research studies in United States of America. Telling them about my dreams, this was when I
didn’t have much resource as a boy grown in a village in India. One of my
friend said you couldn’t do that. I said to him politely my friend…there are
three possibilities:
1. I will die after achieving the dreams.
2. I will die without achieving the dreams.
3. I will die without having a dream.
I
choose and destined to be on the first category.
I
often say the difference between you and anyone else in this world is the
greatness of your dream and the greatness of your vision. When we follow a great God who is the creator
of everything. This gives you the permission to have a great or unlimited
vision or dream. I had friends dictated and pronounced limits over my life. One
of the life experiences I remember is connected with when my parents send me to
study the word of God in a prominent English medium school, this person who was
a pastor of a church asked my mother, why did you sent him to the seminary
instead send him to a automobile workshop. My mother was very offended by that
statement.
The
Bible says, where there is no vision people perish. A blind persons vision is
limited with his/her ability to touch and hear. The ignorant persons vision is
limited by his/her knowledge and lack of understanding. A great persons world
is limited by his/her dream and vision.
One
of the greatest challenges we have in our Christian walk with God is to have a
greater vision, a greater understanding and a greater dream just like God. Our
God see possibilities beyond circumstances. Jesus saw the possibility to walk on the
water, raising up the dead, multiplying the fish and bread, healing the sick
etc. Your dreams are the starting point of your life in the future. Your vision is the staring point of what you
have achieved in the future. The vision is measurable and achievable. Whatever you are facing today, don’t be
discouraged, God sees it, God knows it, God feels it and He is in control.
Your
dreams are the beginning of what God can do in your life. Dream big because God says, Ask me and I will
make the nations your inheritance, the end of the earth your possession (Psalms:
2: 8). When God called and anointed King David, Solomon was not there. The
temple built by Solomon was not there. The proverbs and the wisdom literature were
not there. In other words, the size of God needs to determine the size of the vision
or dreams. When we are dealing with God on our part there are three
possibilities such as the impossible, the possible and done.
Ephe: 3:20-21 says, now to him who is able to do
immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to the power is at work
within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all
generations, forever and ever! Amen.
Our God is a big God, dream big.
